The lifestyle and current times
Earlier man was a hunter. He had to put in lot of energy for food by hunting animals. Then he became a gatherer where he started getting the habit of gathering food for himself and the family. And further to this, he enhanced his tools, skills and knowledge to attain the power to indulge in agriculture. Followed by these came industrialization, digitalization and the now popular globalization, which brought rapid speed in development and lifestyle as a whole.
During the course of evolution from apes to human, there have been several stages, which the human species had to pass through. These stages involved in development of mind and body.
Human evolution has been largely dictated by the environment, which includes food. The genetic modification and frequent changes in gene expression paved the way for Lifestyle.
This lifestyle gave so many disorders like obesity, diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, heart diseases, joint pains; sleep disorders and so many psychological problems. Many types of cancers also related with these habits.
Lifestyle has a tremendous influence on the development of cardio vascular diseases. With the increased intake of diary and meat products (saturated fats), bakery products (trans-fatty acids) fast foods (hydrogenated oils) a person can become prone to Cardio Vascular diseases. Lifestyle has a major impact on health and much improvement can be achieved by understanding the way in which diet and physical activity impact upon health.
Regular exercises like brisk walk for at least 3 to 4 times a week or yoga on a regular basis can help a lot to overcome most of these disorders. Consumption of fruits, green vegetables and Soya products should be encouraged. Restrict high calorie and fat dense foods as well as alcohol. Consumption of right kinds of fats and oils in the recommended amounts is most important for a healthy living.
Habits form right from the young age and it’s the responsibility of the parents to inculcate healthy eating habits and outdoor recreational activities. It is a must that parents themselves set a practical example as children always learn by imitation.

Yes, lifestyle disorders are very common these days. Mainly it is due to fast paced life, fast food consumption, sedantary lifestyle, stress, pollution, lack of sleep etc. But many of these disorders can be reversed to an extent by altering one's lifestyle. And I fully agree with you on your take that children learn by imitation and hence adults should set an example to them. A useful blog indeed . Uma
